Annual Summer Picnic
Every July members enjoy a catered picnic. For many years our members had an opportunity to participate in a bocce tournament at the picnic. In recent years we had other lawn games instead and in 2023 we introduced Walking Soccer! This year, in 2025, we will offer 2 pre-picnic activities, in addition to the lawn games and walking soccer:
- Golf Contest—A Drive, Pitch and Putt contest (limited to 30 participants). See description of contest below!
- Inglis Falls Walk— A gentle, one-hour walk (limited to 25 participants)
2025 Summer Picnic: Drive, Pitch and Put Contest:
This game has three components. Each golfer will participate in each section. The low score in each component will be recognized as well as the overall lowest score for the game. There will be five putting holes (20-foot, 5-foot, foot wedge, croque, and opposite hand). There will be five pitching holes (40 feet, green fringe, over sand trap, out of sand trap, and up and over a hill). Each player will also be given twenty-five golf balls to hit at the driving range. There will be five targets. If you hit a target, you will be awarded negative shots to add to your putting and pitching shots (Bunker – 1, 75-yards -2, 100-yards – 3, 125-yards -4, 150-yards -5). You are limited to two successful hits per target.
Important Note: Each golfer will need to bring their own clubs!
