The Petun Conservation Area is a new hike for most of our group, and we hope the weather cooperates.
This hike includes a long downhill on the quiet road, a long meandering up hill in the woods and a wonderful traverse in a mossy rock strewn forested area with rock walls and a great lookout over south Georgian Bay. At one point we will be hiking up 200 metres of the Olsler Bluff ski hill.
It is considered Moderate to Strenuous with a packed dirt trail but there are very rocky areas and you must be willing to hike down and back up. Please ensure you are physically able to complete this hike. The pace will be medium.
The length is 6 Kms and will take approx 1.75 hours.
The parking is located at the Petun Conservation Area at 675485 2nd Line off of Grey Rd 19 (Castle Glen Rd). There is a large parking area however it is paid parking, suggest carpooling.
Hiking poles, sturdy hiking boots and water recommended.
Written directions will be on the confirmation email.
