“Outing #1 is planned for Wednesday May 29.
Welcome to the first Canoeing and Kayaking event for 2024. We will meet at the parking lot at the bridge at the Beaver River Access Point #2 (Epping)
Time: The paddle will start at 10:00 am sharp. Please give yourself enough time to unload your boats and prepare for the paddle.
Paddling Route: We will paddle upstream towards Kimberly from the launch for about an hour, then turn around and paddle back to our starting point. This is an easy paddle that will last just under 2 hours. We hope to see lots of nature along the way including a variety of birds, turtles, fish, muscrat and beaver. Note: There are no washroom facilities at this location.
Anyone interested in renting canoes or kayaks, please contact Free Spirit Tours in Heathcoate. (freespirittour.ca); they can bring your rental to our staring point. In the case of bad weather, please check your e-mail by 8:30 am on the day of the outing for cancellation or postponement.
Please remember to bring along the following: - water to drink while paddling - PFD (must be worn when on the water) - whistle, bailer, rope etc. - Sunscreen and hat - Bug Spray - Probus Contact Card (this contains important contact information in the case of emergency)
