Coordinators:
Nancy Jackson & Mary Lou Morgan
The group meets every
Tuesday morning at the Marsh Street Centre, at 9:00 to
paint together. Everyone brings their own
equipment i.e.
paper or canvas, water colour palette, acrylic/and or
oils paints and required pallet. The Marsh Street
Centre sets
up the tables and chairs for us. They also provide
coffee and we provide the sweets for our mid-morning break. We paint until about
10:30, take a break, and then continue until 1:00. We
usually stop at about 12:30 and critique each others
work. Of course if anyone needs help they always ask for
it.
We are
very lucky because we seem to have an abundance of
talent. If someone does not want feedback, that's ok
too.
Workshops given by local artists are
also available. For dates
We have
the cost of renting the Centre so we charge $10.00 per
session. We also hire a experienced painter, from the
local area, to come and give a demonstration and then to
critique our work. This usually happens about once a
month. We pay them for their time.
Not
everyone is an experienced painter, several people have
just bought the materials and started in.
Nancy can provide a very good list for beginners.
Painting
is a bit of a sink hole but if you love painting it is a
lot of fun. We have a fabulous pot luck lunch in
December and in June.
We have
a full list of all our members with telephone numbers
and email addresses. There is regular communications
between us and through the Probus newsletter.
Some
people might think this is just for women, but we have a
good number of men and they seem to be really enjoying
themselves. Everyone is welcome to come. We
encourage people to check us out on a Tuesday morning,
maybe stay for coffee.
For more information please call Nancy Jackson or Mary Lou
Morgan.
